There are few secrets in Florida as well-kept as Flagler Beach, a part of old Florida that has yet to be ravaged by visitors. Located north of Daytona Beach, the area lacks any tall buildings and fast food chains. Instead, wide open spaces reign supreme. The result is a gorgeous view of the open ocean, but that’s not all the beach has to offer. Here are a few things to do in Flagler Beach recommended by us here at Flagler CDJR!
- Walk on the Pier – Taking a walk on the pier on the main public beach is something many visitors do year after year. The scenic views and mesmerizing trek over the wooden planks ensure memories are made all on their own. Alternatively, roll onto the sand in your 4×4 vehicle and take in the scenic view from the front seat.
- Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area – Located on the southern end of Flagler Beach, the Gamble Rogers State Recreation area features kayak rentals. Visitors can visit private islands and explore the area as they please. There are even more activities to take part in, but you’re best off checking the website for more information.
- Fish – When all else fails and you need a little rest and relaxation, take up fishing. Stand in the cool surf, cast off of the pier, or head onto the water in a boat. The choice is yours!
