Dodge Durango Pursuit to Join Police Fleet
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has already been in the cop car business for years, what with the Dodge Charger Pursuit being the top-selling police vehicle in the country. For 2018, FCA is introducing a new Dodge nameplate to the police fleet – the Dodge Durango Pursuit. The production of the police SUV followed testing at a recent evaluation event that earned the vehicle a significant amount of praise among law enforcement agencies.
A testing model of the Dodge Durango Pursuit made its debut at the Michigan State Police 2018 model-year evaluation, where it was highly rated by several law enforcement agencies. FCA decided to add the SUV to its police fleet lineup, where the company believes the Dodge Durango Pursuit will nicely complement the uses of the Dodge Charger Pursuit sedan.
With a 360-horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine under the hood, the Dodge Durango Pursuit will be able to tow 7,200 lb., in addition to having features like a ground clearance of 8.1 in., an AWD system, and performance upgrades that make it adaptable for off-roading. The 2018 Dodge Durango Pursuit will also come with a host of exclusive standard features for law enforcement work. While information on pricing isn’t yet available, the model will have a limited run of orders.
