2019 Ram 1500 Tailgate Gets Innovative Update

2019 RAM 1500 Tailgate - Coming Soon!Spy shots of the still under-wraps 2019 Ram 1500 show that Ram is adding a new tailgate to its popular light-duty truck. The tailgate will be split to the right of the handle, letting it open in multiple configurations for the smartest and most storage-friendly tailgate access ever found on a pickup.

Traditionally, truck tailgates are hinged to the bottom of the truck bed and open down in one long piece. The 2019 Ram 1500 tailgate will have detachable hinges at both the bottom of the bed and the sides of the bed. This will let you open it down as one big piece, or open one piece down the traditional way and one piece outward like a car door, or even open both pieces outward.

This smart configuration makes accessing the bed much easier, since you don’t have to climb over the tailgate to get to the bed, and the split configuration lets you carry long items on one side without having the entire tailgate open.

Only the back of the truck has been photographed at this point, so we don’t know all the details about the new tailgate, but keep an eye out for updates on the upcoming 2019 Ram 1500! And if you want to find out more about the 2019 Ram 1500 tailgate, give us a call today at Flagler CDJR.

Ram 1500 Updates To Look Out For in 2018

2018 Ram 1500 | Flagler CDJR | Palm Coast, FL

The 2018 Ram 1500 will be back better than ever, bringing drivers its signature capability, toughness, versatility, and style in addition to plenty of new goodies to keep you on the edge of your seat. These Ram 1500 updates bring two new editions to the pickup truck’s lineup, the Sport and Big Horn Black models. The addition of these models brings new, fresh features to a long-running – but still wildly popular – vehicle in Ram’s lineup.

The Sport model isn’t the most range-topping model, but it’s still on the more upscale end of the Ram 1500’s lineup, featuring black grille surrounds, accents, and emblems for a sleeker look as well as a double-scoop hood. The iconic cross grille gets ditched in favor of a body-color piece with the “RAM” logo front-and-center.

The Big Horn Black Edition sits just below the Sport model with similarly dark styling, with black paint, wheels, and trim. Additionally, it also has a hood with two scoops but does not have its own exclusive grille design.

There are more Ram 1500 updates on the way, but these are some of the most major additions to the pickup truck for 2018. Watch out for more information on the new 2018 Ram 1500 when it launches here at Flagler CDJR.
